The Michiana Walleye Association was founded in 1993 to enhance the St. Joseph River and its surrounding waters in northern Indiana and southern Michigan.

KIDS FISHING DERBY

Here's an update on the Kids Fishing Derby held this past weekend August 2nd. We had 56 children that fished and I must say many had not fished before. The big fish was won by Zoie Long with a 13" bass. 1st place went to Kolton Kaser with 59 3/4" of fish, 2nd to Jill Vargo with 51", and thrid to Joseph Martin with 48 1/4". It seems that all the children had a great time. They were able to fish, join in a casting contest, and a fish race, as well as having a framed picture to take home.

I'm sure that we can top this for next year. I would love to have 100 children next time. There is much to plan and work out. There were a few things that can and will be improved and we will figure those out.

I would love to have your thoughts and comments. I'm tired but I had a great time.
